The project is an award winning proposal for the reorganization of the "Strannopriemnitza Etar" hotel as part of the "Ethnographic Open Air Museum Etar" in the town of Gabrovo.
The project proposes the enhancement of the existing classis spaces of the Etar Inn by introducing features, attractions and color to the space with the greater purpose of attracting and inviting the missing visitor - the artist, the child and the person with disabilities – into its space.
Taking into consideration the ambitions of the local authorities of implementing an integrated strategy in the work of the museum, the desire to work in a contemporary European network of cultural institutions and the approved visual identity, the design adopts the motto “living tradition” and complements the existing base it provides with new active features.
The project complies with all requirements and regulations regarding the functionality, connections between the different functional groups and the distribution and layout of the spaces.
An additional group of activities is introduced, including: meeting and recreation areas, spaces for art expositions and installations, a library and media space, playgrounds for children.
The interior design follows the general concept of intervention by preserving and/or interpreting the existing elements in a contemporary way.
